The Fleet Feet Sports No Boundaries 5K training program is designed for beginner runners and people who are currently inactive or minimally active. 

There's no time like the present to get up on your feet, start moving, and become a new and improved you. This 9-week safe, fun, and non-intimidating program is designed for beginners who would like to run, run/walk or walk in a 5k race.

Along the way we provide you with motivation, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. There will be pace groups for every level of runner so, you'll never be running alone. Training will start with 1 mile and build up to 3 miles.

PROGRAM AVAILABILITY  |  GOAL EVENT  Our current No Boundaries program will begin on May 21, 2013 and run for 9 weeks ending with participants running the Hoboken Party with a Purpose 5k event on Tuesday, July 16th at 7pm. You may choose to do a different race in or around the same time frame, and the coaches will work with you to alter your training schedule.

  • Training Months:  May 21, 2013 through July 16, 2013
  • Goal Event:  Party with a Purpose 5k, in Hoboken, NJ in July - race registration is not included in program registration
  • First Training Run: Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 7pm, Kickoff Meeting/Information Session is Tuesday May 14, 2013 - scroll down for further details

WORKOUT TIMES  |  LOCATIONS  There will be one training session per week and seminars periodically throughout the program.

  • Tuesdays at 7 pm, meeting at Fleet Feet Hoboken

PROGRAM BENEFITS  Every participant receives:

  • A complete 9 week program with a schedule detailing weekly workouts
  • A weekly, coached group training session at Fleet Feet Hoboken
  • Informational clinics on proper footwear, injury prevention and nutrition
  • A weekly email, delivered via your online workout log, with tips, advice, motivation & encouragement
  • Dedicated support from coaches and answers to individual questions
  • Access to a private Facebook group with your coaches and everyone in the program
  • A technical running t-shirt, hat, and if you attend 80% of the runs and finish your race, a special prize!

TRAINING GROUPS  On the first day of practice, coaches will help determine what pace group best suits your fitness level with an easy, basic assessment of your starting point fitness level.

  • Walk Group - brisk walking
  • Run/Walk Group A
  • Run Group - continuous running

REGISTRATION  Registration will close approximately one week after the first training or when maximum capacity of 20 participants has been reached. Registration will be available online soon.

  • COST:  $100 - program registration fee does not include race entry fee
  • NO REFUNDS after the first day of training. There are no exchanges or transfers at any time.

KICKOFF FOR REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS AND INFORMATION SESSION  The Training Program will kick-off with an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 7pm to 8pm at Fleet Feet Hoboken (604 Washington Street). We will review specific training information and get you pumped for an incredibly journey. This meeting is open to everyone - registered participants AND those interested in signing up for the program.
